With great pain, I got through WGC on my rewatch and this was just the palate cleanser I needed. David was hurt, she really did shoot him down quite a few times in S5. His perspective was captured nicely in this story. I love that Maddie told him the truth when he asked why she didn’t want him with anyone else…and then of course that brought his walls down. Lovely story!
